After touring the U.S. and the rest of the world, heavy metal icons Judas Priest and the mighty Sabaton made their final stop at the Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas. Metal fans of all ages filled the Pavillion for what was easily one of the best shows of the year.
It was a sold-out show in Dallas when L.A. Guns played the Granada Theater. The 1983-formed Guns was on tour in support of their recently released 16th studio album, Leopard Skin. The current lineup includes founder/guitarist Tracii Guns, Phil Lewis (vocals), former Faster Pussycat guitarist Ace Von Johnson, Johnny Martin (bass) and Shawn Duncan (drums).
The setlist of 13 songs contained many of their classics with a few newer songs mixed in, including two fun tracks from the new album - "Hit and Run" and "Lucky Motherfucker." Other highlights included "Over the Edge," "Sex Action," "One More Reason," "Never Enough" and "The Ballad of Jayne."
For a band that's been playing for over forty years, L.A. Guns can still bring it. Phil Lewis’s vocals still sound amazing and Tracii Guns can still play his ass off. The current lineup sounds tight and has a ton of energy. The musicians have great chemistry and it shows through to the fans as all the band members appear to have fun onstage together. Expect to hear much more from this band in the future and be sure to catch them when they come to your town.
Special thanks to Tara and the staff at the Granada Theater for their help.
