It was a fun night of metal for concertgoers when Seven Kingdoms and Striker played the Haltom Theater as both bands are well known for having a great sense of humor and shredding guitars.

Striker, a heavy metal band hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, was founded by singer Dan Cleary in 2007. Their style has remained a modern mix of traditional heavy metal, classic hard rock and 80's hair metal, with catchy, sing along choruses and continual shredding from guitarists Tim Brown and John Simon Fallon. Audiences have always claimed the Canadian band is so much fun to watch, especially charismatic bassist Pete Klassen, who never stopped posing for the cameras.

The set opened with "Circle of Evil" and "The Best of the Best of the Best" from their latest album, Ultrapower. Other favorites included "Phoenix Lights," "Born to Lose," "Thunderdome," "Former Glory" and the show closer, "Heart of Lies." Fans who have had the chance to catch Striker live have always said if you watch this band then you’re guaranteed to have a good time!

Headlining this tour is Florida's Seven Kingdoms, with the husband and wife duo of guitarist Camden Cruz and vocalist Sabrina Valentine, along with brothers Kevin (guitars) and Keith Byrd (drums). Their music is a mix of progressive and power metal with many references of fantasy elements in their songs. Fans love that Seven Kingdoms doesn't take themselves too seriously. This is immediately apparent by the drum kit covered in stuffed animals and hamburger pillows, and Valentine, "The Burger Queen" herself, as she appears onstage wearing a crown and her trademark oversized hamburger slippers.

Seven Kingdoms set mostly focused on material from their recent EP, The Square, with other favorites mixed in. Highlights included "After The Fall," "A Silent Remedy," "The Square," "The Fire is Mine" and "In the Walls."

After the show both bands came out to their merchandise tables and met with their fans. This contingent has grown with every show.

Special thanks to the Haltom Theater for their help.
